Crown College Master of Arts in Counseling Program Receives CACREP Accreditation

BONIFACIUS, Minn. — Crown College is pleased to announce that its Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program has received accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) for its specialty in clinical mental health counseling, effective August 7, 2026.

CACREP is a specialized accrediting body that evaluates counseling programs to ensure they meet established standards of quality and professional preparation.

For students and graduates, CACREP accreditation can help simplify the licensure process, as many state licensing boards recognize or require graduation from a CACREP-accredited counseling program.

This CACREP accreditation affirms that the program meets rigorous national standards for counselor preparation and reflects years of collaborative work by faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community partners.

“This accreditation is a significant milestone for the MAC program and demonstrates Crown’s commitment to academic excellence and professional counselor preparation,” said Dr. Jim Zapf, Dean of the Graduate School of Counseling.

“We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this achievement and look forward to continuing to prepare counselors who serve with excellence and Christ-centered compassion.”
