A Well-Rounded Education

Our two-year Associate of Arts degree program in Minnesota offers students a well-rounded education with an emphasis on the humanities and social sciences. Through this unique program, students graduate with an A.A. degree or complete a bachelor’s degree with another two years of college.

The A.A. degree program in Minnesota provides course options in a number of different areas including history, English, psychology, communication, criminal justice and others.

PSY 130 - General Psychology

This course is designed to provide a broad overview of the field of psychology. Topics include research in psychology, the brain and nervous system, sensation and perception, memory, emotion, learning, psychological disorders and psychotherapy. This introductory course aims to help students think deliberately and skillfully about human behavior and mental processes.

COM 252 - Interpersonal Communication

The foundational course for the study of relational communication. Students will study the role of communication in family systems, self-identity, intimate relationships, gender issues and nonverbal contexts. Specific topics include listening, self-disclosure and conflict management.

ENG 132 - Writing and Literature

Continued instruction and practice in writing and the writing process are the focal points of this course, with emphasis on critical analysis of literary genres.

What is the Faculty to Student Ratio?

Our faculty to student ratio is 17:1. We intentionally aim to keep our class sizes small. This allows us to maintain academic excellence and strong relationships between faculty and students. At Crown College, every student is a person and not just another number.

Will my credits transfer?

We generally accept credits from accredited institutions as long as the student maintained a C or higher in the course. To see a full list of what classes will transfer, you can visit Transferology or contact our registrar office at registrar@crown.edu.

What academic resources are available?

Our Student Development Office has a dedicated position to assist students throughout the year. The Coordinator of Student Success gladly meets with students and connects them with various campus resources. The services in this role are designed to increase academic success and build community.
