Dear Friends of Crown College,
As this year draws to a close, I continue to be encouraged by the incredible ways God is moving through Crown College. From growing enrollment and championship athletics to academic excellence and deep spiritual renewal, the Lord’s faithfulness emerges across our community. Each story of transformation is a testament to His work, and your prayers and generosity are a vital part of that journey.
One of those meaningful stories comes from a student named Mateo. As a business and sport management student, Mateo came from Mexico to Crown to study and play soccer. Having grown up in a Christian home, he knew about faith but hadn’t yet made it his own. That began to change during his sophomore year, when a season of uncertainty and homesickness brought him to a breaking point.
Amidst those struggles, God uniquely met him through a series of vivid dreams, calling Mateo to draw near and study His word.
One particular dream pointed Mateo to the book of Matthew, and as he began reading, God’s word came alive to him. He found answers to questions he’d been carrying for years and began to sense renewed peace and purpose.
Later that year, during a team trip to Florida, Mateo shared his story publicly for the first time. His testimony encouraged his teammates and reminded everyone that God uses our trials and trust to reveal His plan. Today, Mateo serves in student leadership, using his influence to help others grow in faith and community. His story is a powerful reflection of what unfolds when students are nurtured with space to grow, supported with care, and guided by a Christ-centered education that helps them discern and respond to God’s calling.
With your ongoing prayers and partnership, stories like Mateo’s continue to echo across Crown’s campus. Every student receives scholarship support, and each gift to the Crown Fund helps make their Christ-centered education both attainable and life-changing.
