New Student Move-In Day: Monday, January 12th

Residential New Student Check-in & Move-In  

  • Chapel  
  • Sign up for a campus arrival date & time. You must be logged in to the Crown Connect App. Contact your Admissions Counselor if you need assistance. 

10:00 a.m.

Get Settled in Your Room Residence Halls  

  • Residential students, take time to settle in. You’ll have time later to sort through all your things 

11:30 a.m.

Commuter + PSEO New Student Check-in  

  • Chapel  
  • Sign up for a campus arrival date & time. You must be logged into the Crown Connect App. Contact your Admissions Counselor if you need assistance.  

12:00 p.m.

President’s Welcome & Lunch:  

  • Fireside Room  
  • Join us in the Fireside Room for a special welcome from President Denton and lunch together. Family members are welcome for lunch. Crown students eat FREE, guests are $15.99 on-site. 

1:00 p.m.

Family Session: Student Success  

  • Fireside Room  
  • Academics, Emily Cano, Martha, John, Morgan  
  • Family members and new students, learn how to be a successful student at Crown College. Hear from faculty and staff on the importance of going to class, utilizing campus resources, and engaging in campus life. 

2:00 p.m.

Family Farewell & Student Commissioning  

  • Fireside Room  
  • New students will receive a special blessing from Crown’s Campus Pastor Max  
    before guests are dismissed. 
  • Worship 

2:30 p.m.

New Student Session 1: Introductions & Making Connections 

  • Student Center  
  • Icebreakers and giveaways! Get to know your Welcome Week group and learn more about the fun schedule! 

3:00 p.m.

New Student Session 2: Campus Living 

  • Fireside 
  • Learn about what it means to live on campus in our community. Commuters, take a tour of the Commuter Lounge.  

3:30 p.m.

Group Activity: Scavenger Hunt 

  • Fireside Room  
  • Think you can find your way around campus? Grab a friend and race through our scavenger hunt! Complete challenges, snap photos, and uncover all the must-know spots at Crown. 

4:30 p.m.

Break  

  • Take a break and get ready for dinner! Meet your Welcome Week group at the  
    Athletic Entrance by 5 pm 

5:00 p.m.

Dinner at the Dentons 

  • Enjoy dinner off campus at our President’s home! 

Tuesday, January 13th

Devotions and Worship 

  • Fireside Room
  • Start the day off with the Lord and your Crown community. Enjoy worship and hear an encouraging message from our Assistant Director of Campus Ministry.

New Student Session 3: Spiritual Formation Program Training 

  • Fireside  

 

PSEO Overview 

  • New PSEO students, take some time to get to the Director of PSEO, Emily Cano, and learn about what it looks like to be a student at Crown.

New Student Session 4: Title IX Training   

  • W121 
  • Title IX is a federal civil rights law in the United States, part of the Education Amendments of 1972. It states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” In essence, Title IX aims to eliminate sex-based discrimination in educational institutions that receive federal funding. It applies to all aspects of education, including admissions, athletics, and employment. This training will provide students with the general knowledge of the law and how it impacts their day-to-day. This training is required for all new students.

  • Get set for academic success! This session breaks down the key resources, systems, and habits every Crown student should know to start strong. There will be an opportunity to meet with your advisor.

  • Walk your class schedule, find your advisor’s office, and prepare for the start of class!

Service Opportunity 

  • Meet at Athletic Entrance 
  • Join us off campus at Humanity Alliance for a hands-on service opportunity! Help prepare and package meals for local families while learning more about how this organization is fighting food insecurity in our community. Faith in action credit opportunity!
