Dr. Cathy Sigmund, Ph.D., CWM, CCTP is a Psychologist, Educator, Minister and Consultant, who serves as the Executive Director of RAIN (Refugee and Immigrant Network) of The Alliance, and Chaplain for Refugee Care Ministries, Allegheny Center Alliance Church, Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Sigmund received her masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from The Pennsylvania State University.
As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Sigmund specializes in behavioral health evaluations and providing culturally congruent services to ethnic minorities, refugees/immigrants and other underserved groups. She is an Adjunct Professor, MA in Counseling Program at Crown College, and Visiting Professor, Department of Psychology and Counseling at Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara, Uganda. Dr. Sigmund served as general editor for the Wells of Refuge: Welcoming Devotional Bible and reviewer for the Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Studies. S
he is published and has developed curricula in crisis and trauma counseling, faith-based interventions, international psychology and multicultural counseling. She has collaborated with local communities and public health entities to develop, design and implement culturally informed health and wellness education strategies within impoverished, minority, and refugee/immigrant communities, globally.
