Professional Excellence

Psalms 33:3, Proverbs 16:3, 1 Corinthians 15:58, Colossians 3:17, Colossians 3:23-24, James 1:5

At Crown College, we value employee excellence through empowerment, integrity, stewardship, quality work, time management, development of expertise, meeting deadlines, and following through on commitments.

Our employees exude the strongest desire for growth, working in good faith with others, communicating clearly, and biblically resolving conflict (Colossians 3:12-14). At Crown College, we value personal and professional growth by training, equipping, and developing leaders at every level. Our work is for the Lord (Colossians 3:23), and we should strive for the highest level of professionalism and excellence.

Collaboration

Proverbs 27:17, Romans 12:4-8, Romans 15:5-7, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:11-12

Crown College values a collaborative community that partners physically, virtually, intellectually, academically, and cross-departmentally to bring our institution to a new level of excellence.

We rely on the different skills and talents each person brings to their roles. Crown values clear communication and willingness to share knowledge and ideas across divisions, departments, and levels of the organization. We need everyone at their best, working creatively and passionately to do the work God has called us to do.

Kingdom Diversity

Matthew 25:35, Matthew 25:40, Matthew 28:18, John 3:16-17, John 13:34, Galatians 3:28, Colossians 3:13-14, Revelation 7:9

Crown College values and understands the need for a culture of belonging and global engagement, striving toward true unity in Christ as affirmed in the scriptures.

As we are all formed in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), we must strive toward the true unity in Christ affirmed in the scriptures. Crown seeks to honor our brothers and sisters in Christ worldwide with different backgrounds, perspectives, races, gifts, experiences, ages, denominational theologies, and ethnicities who hold diverse ideas and academic approaches. With cultural voices defining diversity initiatives and perspectives, Crown College values the ability to think about these things biblically. We value the ability to disagree with one another while still maintaining deep relationships. We encourage forming genuine friendships with those different from us, seeking out and understanding diverse perspectives, engaging with each other in their area of interest, and taking time to understand others’ experiences. We desire biblical reconciliation, celebrating with those in times of celebration, mourning with those in times of mourning, and praying consistently for and with everyone. Our deepest desire is to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15).

Hospitality

John 13:34, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 4:2-3, Ephesians 4:32, Philippians 2:3, 1 Peter 4:8-11

Crown College values an others-first approach to hospitality. We are a generous and friendly community in person and online, providing a sense of belonging to all who interact with us.

Our employees approach their work with a servant’s heart, desire to instill hospitality in our students, and aim to display the Fruit of the Spirit through their interactions (Galatians 5:22-23). Through attention to detail, timeliness, and preparedness, we will do everything possible to ensure our guests experience a warm welcome each time they visit.

Innovation

Genesis 1:1-31, Isaiah 43:19, Romans 12:2, Revelation 21:5

At Crown College, we value, encourage, and expect employees and students to be innovative in their roles and take ownership of their work.

Due to the changing culture and dynamics within higher education, institutions must innovate and learn to do things differently. Employees are encouraged to think differently, try new things, and be creative without fear of failure. Crown values the ability to disrupt the norm, find new ways to improve things, launch new initiatives, and innovate to bring education to a changing world
