Yes! We take the safety of our students seriously. See our safety procedures and safety reports.
Students are required to leave campus for winter and spring break. However, exceptions may be made based on the situation. Students can work with our Resident Life Staff to request a housing exception if needed.
Homecoming is Crown’s open house. It’s when we invite everyone for an extra special celebration of the Crownie life. All are invited! Families and alumni make the journey to participate in a fun-filled weekend, watch a game or two, and explore our surrounding communities.
There are many factors to be considered when determining how often parents should visit their students and how often their students should visit home. Of course, this is a decision make between the student and parent, but we do have a few suggestions.
Come to Homecoming! This family event is scheduled in early fall where students, family, and alumni join together to celebrate life at Crown and experience the student’s home away from home, seeing what Crown has to offer. The timing of this event is just enough for students to get settled at Crown, but also is in a time when many students may feel a little homesick.
Visit your student, but please no surprises. Classwork, social activities, and work tend to stack up a student’s schedule, so you’ll want to allow your student time to plan ahead.

Yes! Students who qualify for work-study can apply for many jobs around campus, meaning they can make some additional money without needing to leave campus.

Our campus is located in the Twin Cities metro, about 40 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Students have access to the opportunities of great cities as well as the beautiful nature of our surrounding community. Our 200-acre, park-like campus is within one mile of three lakes and surrounded by a gorgeous wooded natural landscape, making it a great place to enjoy Minnesota’s four seasons.

Crown students automatically have access to Cengage Unlimited at no additional cost. Because of this, most books will be covered for Crown students, saving an average of $1,240 per year on course materials. Certain classes may require non-Cengage materials that will be an additional cost to the student.
