    II. Electives - 12 Credits

    General electives should be selected in consultation with one's academic advisor. General electives accepted for transfer into this degree program should normally fall within the areas of study represented by the following emphasis tracks. If an emphasis track is chosen, the student will  need to complete additional elective credits to reach the required number of credits for the degree.

    A Master’s degree in Global Leadership is designed to provide students with a practical, theoretical, and spiritual perspective on intercultural and global leadership dynamics.  The core courses in the M.A. in Global Leadership include classes in organizational communication, strategic planning, and the theoretical and spiritual foundations for leadership.  Students will also develop research skills, which will help them advance the knowledge in the field and/or evaluate the effectiveness of nonprofit organization and the programs that they operate.

    How long does it take to get a Master’s in Global Leadership degree?

    Most students complete the program in two years.  This can be done by taking one 7-week class at a time over the 2-year time period.

    How often do I have to be on campus?

    The Master’s degree in Global Leadership is 100% online and has no requirement for you to travel to campus for any aspect of the program. Although it is a fully online degree program, you will have a dedicated advisor who will provide academic support, guidance and advice throughout the program.  You will also have direct access to each of your instructors and will be able to reach them via phone or email.

    While not required, we do hope you will join us on-site for your graduation!  We host several special events for our online students and their families at our main campus in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota the day before graduation.  The actual commencement service is held on a Saturday.

    Do I need international experience to be considered for this program?

    Familiarity with the dynamics and challenges associated with global operations or multicultural environments would be helpful with this particular major.  The program will enhance the skills of those with previous intercultural experience, but it will also effectively prepare those students who have had little or no international exposure.

    Can I transfer into the Master’s in Global Leadership degree if I’m still working on my bachelor’s degree?

    Students are required to have a bachelor’s degree in order to start the program.  Undergraduate students at Crown College have the option of taking several graduate level classes for some concentrations, which will count toward their undergraduate degree.  This will allow them to complete their graduate program more quickly when they start it.
