BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
Psychology/Counseling
Psychology is a field of great value to those working in nearly any profession, but especially in the areas of management, counseling and ministry. With a bachelor’s online degree in psychology, students are equipped with knowledge and techniques that are easily applicable to nearly any role working with people. Because of the interpersonal skills students acquire, they are prepared for continued studies at the graduate level or for employment in a number of professions.
Graduates of Crown’s online Christian Counseling degree program are prepared to work in any field that requires an understanding of human thought and behavior from business to ministry to social work. The program also prepares graduates for the rigors of a master’s program, such as a Master of Arts in Counseling (M.A.) or Master of Social Work (M.S.W.).
Students may add a minor in Drug and Alcohol Counseling to the Psychology Counseling degree.

HIGHLIGHT
Accelerated Degree
The accelerated programs are tightly structured courses of study in which students take graduate courses during the undergraduate degree program. Once students graduate with the respective undergraduate degree, the graduate courses then transfer into the master’s degree program allowing the student to complete that degree in a shortened time frame.
Qualified students in the B.S. in Psychology/Counseling program may apply for an accelerated degree program to earn their Counseling (M.A.) degree in an additional two years instead of the typical three years. Click here for more detailed information regarding the acceptance process for this option.

HIGHLIGHT
Internship Opportunities
An internship is a requirement of the state of MN in order to obtain licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Therefore, Crown College assists students in finding an internship site that will prepare them to enter the chemical health field. Internships provide students with experiential learning in order to develop skills and receive training from professionals in the field. Internships also offer great networking opportunities. Though there is no guarantee, many students get hired by their internship sites. Potential Internship Sites:
- MN Adult & Teen Challenge
- Progress Valley
- St. Louis Park Counseling Clinic
While they must be pre-approved by Crown to ensure that they meet licensing board requirements, students often find their own internship sites.
