Minors

Minors allow you to customize your degree. Focus on what you are passionate about.

The online ADC program will provide you with the skills needed to help individuals struggling with addiction to find healing. The program examines the effects of substance abuse on individuals and families with special attention given to the real emotional, cognitive, cultural, professional, financial, and spiritual consequences of addiction. Crown’s Christian-centered counseling program addresses how to recognize and respond to addiction, how to support and help those in need, and the role that faith plays in recovery. Through your courses and internship experience you will be prepared to become a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) through the MN Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (BBHT).

Did you know that Alcohol and Drug Counseling is the only field where you can work as a counselor with a Bachelor’s Degree? (No Master’s required.)

An internship is not required to get an ADC minor, however, it is a requirement of the state of MN in order to obtain licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Therefore, Crown College assists students in finding an internship site that will prepare them to enter the chemical health field. Internships provide students with experiential learning in order to develop skills and receive training from professionals in the field. Internships also offer great networking opportunities. Though there is no guarantee, many students get hired by their internship sites.

Students in any of Crown’s online degree programs can add a Biblical Studies minor so that they can deepen their understanding of theology and ability to interpret the Word of God. Students are equipped with tools for their own spiritual growth and empowered with skills to lead others in the process of spiritual formation.

Graduates with a minor in Biblical Studies are prepared for volunteer ministry, bi-vocational ministry, or work in other faith-based education and nonprofit organizations. They are prepared to integrate Christian values into everyday decisions. Students in the B.S. in Christian Ministry degree program are automatically eligible to declare the Christian studies minor since all of the required courses are completed in that degree program.

The online Christian business minor is intended for students majoring in other disciplines who want a solid introduction to business management. Students are introduced to the disciplines of Marketing, Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Information Systems.

This 21-hour Christian business minor was intentionally created for non-business majors to gain essential business skills they can be applied in any career field.

During times of personal and community crisis, people often need someone to turn to for emotional and spiritual support as they deal with deep loss and trauma. Crown’s Care Ministries program has been specifically designed for people called to minister to those in crisis.

Combining coursework in Bible, theology, psychology, counseling, and ministry, Crown’s Care Ministries program provides training for those seeking careers as pastors, chaplains, and first responders.
