Disaster and Emergency Management B.S. Degree

Online Disaster and Emergency Management Major

Now is the time to enroll in a Christ-focused, accredited, online Disaster and Emergency Management degree program. With the onset of irregular weather patterns, super storms and other natural disasters, Disaster and Emergency Management is a professional field experiencing strong job growth.

Law enforcement, military personnel and city planning professionals will find a major or minor in the Christian-focused online Disaster and Emergency Management degree a significant career enhancement. Coursework includes emergency preparedness and crisis communications, recovery operations and how Christ-centered emergency relief evolves into community development work.

In addition to traditional emergency management agencies, many faith-based organizations, including churches, respond to crises. During a disaster, people often turn to their faith to help them cope. Crown’s online Christian Disaster and Emergency Management degree addresses the management principles, public policies and best practices that are essential for any emergency management professional, but it also adds the faith components that often go hand-in-hand with this critically important work. Tuition is priced competitively, lower than similar accredited institutions. In fact, 98 percent of those enrolled at Crown receive student loans, scholarships or financial aid.

“Crown’s B.S. degree in Disaster and Emergency Management uniquely positions graduates to work within government, nonprofit and for-profit organizations to effectively and professionally respond to crises. Our graduates will apply their leadership and management expertise using strategic planning and decision-making models from a Christian perspective, bringing ethics and cultural sensitivity to the practice of emergency and crisis management.” – Darin Mather, PhD, Program Chair, Social Sciences
