Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
This program prepares students for careers in contemporary marketing with opportunities to learn about research, strategy, current marketing trends, branding, advertising, and other components of marketing that drive growth in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
Students will study the principles that undergird an effective marketing strategy as well as the fundamentals of e-marketing, marketing analytics, marketing plans and what it means to create “value” for one’s customers.
Marketing Major (B.S.) Courses
1 Select humanities electives from COM, ENG, ESL, FAR, HIS, HUM, LAN, MUS, PHI, or PRC.
2 Select social science electives from ANT, CSJ, ECO, ESL, GEO, HIS, POL, PSY, or SOC.
* Some courses from the Christian Studies Core can be used to fulfill requirements in the General Education Core. In addition, some courses required by the major can be used to fulfill requirements in the Christian Studies or General Education Cores. By doing that the number of electives needed would increase so that the minimum of 125 credits is reached.
Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester or their junior year fall semester. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and completion of half of the Christian Service requirements are required for departmental admission in the Marketing major.
