ABOUT DR. BACKHUUS
Dr. Troy Backhuus earned his MA in Counseling from Grace University and his PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Regent University. He began his professional counseling practice in 2002 and focuses on a holistic approach to counseling and healing. Dr. Backhuus and his wife, Roma Jean, have a passion for serving missionaries and training others in the field of missionary care. They are actively involved in full-time missionary care as they offer support to field missionaries. Dr. Backhuus lives in Omaha, Nebraska and has taught counseling and psychology students for Crown College, Nebraska Christian College, Creighton University, and Grace University. His students often say that he is “excellent at getting students to relax and engage in class,” and that he “shares his years of experience with humor and relatability.”
