PSEO HOMESCHOOL

SOUTH HEIGHTS

Your co-op is a College Classroom

Crown offers this dynamic PSEO program to qualified students at SOUTH HEIGHTS. This program permits students to earn college credit for free while still in high school. Courses have a low student-to-instructor ratio for an optimal learning experience.

Students from South Heights can take classes in a hybrid format in which Crown’s online instructor partners with a course assistant from South Heights.  Course assistants, who are selected by South Heights and approved by Crown, lead weekly 1.5 hours face-to-face in which they guide students through course activities provided by the instructor. These sessions provide tutoring assistance and supplemental instruction to students.  Major assignments are graded by Crown’s course instructor.  This option gives students the opportunity to get support from a familiar homeschool course assistant while taking a high-quality online course under the guidance of a credentialed faculty member from Crown.

All PSEO students are supported by a dedicated PSEO academic advisor. The tuition and books are free for Minnesota students.

These courses are specially selected to ease you into the college experience, meet high school requirements, and fulfill college general education needs. Courses with Crown College count toward both high school and college credit. Best of all, they are free!

Courses run over a 15-week semester.  Digital textbooks are used for the majority of the classes.  Classes are taught from a biblical worldview; however, not all the books provide that same worldview.

FAQs

Here are common questions and their answers

Standardized test results are not required for PSEO or Dual Enrollment students.

An official homeschool transcript includes classes, grades, cumulative GPA, expected graduation date, and a parent signature and is mailed in a sealed envelope or emailed from the parent’s email.

Crown is regionally accredited so credits should transfer elsewhere, but ultimately it’s up to the other college to decide what will transfer.  See Transferology for assistance planning coursework.

The MDE Notice of PSEO Notice of Student Registration form must be completed each semester by the student, parent, high school counselor, and Crown College to be submitted to the MN Department of Education for payment.

This form indicates what classes are required for you to earn your high school diploma. Completing your high school graduation requirements is a priority for the PSEO program.
