Study.com has ranked Crown College #12 on a report ranking the top 25 colleges in America for an online counseling degree program.
The site, visited by 40 million people per month, determines the viability of undergraduate and graduate degrees based on multiple criteria, such as the quality of the faculty, affordability, residency programs, and the availability of career resources for students.
As part of the recognition, Crown College receives a Best Online Counseling Degree Program designation, badge, and a listing at Study.com. Other colleges ranked include Grand Canyon University, Bob Jones University, University of Cincinnati, and Nyack College in New York.
No other Minnesota Christian colleges ranked in the top 25 on the Study.com rankings.
“Among the many reasons for the success of our program is the fact that we hire faculty members who are not only academically qualified (doctoral degrees required), but are also experienced in the profession of counseling,” says Dr. Jim Zapf, Director of Counseling Related Programs at Crown College. “They each bring a wealth of personal experience and academic knowledge to the classroom. So, along with being affordable and having an accessible online format, students in our program can expect to interact closely with professors who embody the heart and soul of a practicing professional counselor.”
Crown offers a wide variety of counseling degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Alcohol and Drug Counseling, a Master of Arts in Counseling, a Master of Arts in Alcohol and Drug Counseling, and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling.
Study.com used a comprehensive methodology that “…evaluated hundreds of online counseling schools for this list and selected Crown College based on academic and career resources for online counseling students, the quality of education, faculty, and more.”
According to the report: “The best benefit of the counseling master’s degrees is that they require enough internship hours to meet Minnesota LPCC licensure standards, which means you will be able to jump straight into your counseling career after graduation.”
