Being a Crownie has it’s perks.

Student Benefits

Want some bonuses? Crown students have access to a variety of accommodations that make the college experience so much better. From athletic events to free IT assistance, and our coffee shop to discounts at local businesses, there are plenty of reasons to be a Crownie!

Student Perks

All students get into all home athletic games throughout the year. So put on your purple and white and come cheer on the Crown Storm!

There is always something on the calendar. Almost all events at Crown are free to students. Not sure what to do this weekend? Just check out our upcoming events.

We have plenty of clubs and organizations that are funded by the Student Senate. These allow you to follow your passion and find community in a deeper way.

We have one of the best disc golf courses in Minnesota. Open to the public, come play our 18 hole disc golf course.

Crown’s beautiful 200 acres are up against Parley Lake. This quiet, serene lake is a perfect place to study, think, or even take a canoe out. We also have a fire pit and grill station near the water, making for a perfect evening gathering.

No need to get a gym membership! Our students have access to our Weight Room where they can focus on strength training.

Ready to get fit? Our Fitness Center has treadmills, ellipticals, and other machines to help you get a workout — especially in the dead of winter.

The Sherburne Coffee Shop is a wonderful place to grab a coffee, a snack, or just hang out with friends. We recently updated our coffee shop with a new collaborative space to make it even easier to connect with friends and classmates.

Students simply need to register their car and hang the permit on their rear-view mirror.

The Counseling and Career Center provides student-centered/career-related assistance and programs, such as general career guidance, choosing a major, resume and cover letter advice, internship and job search, interview preparation, professional networking and branding, applying to graduate school, and more. The career services staff is available to assist you during your career-related steps and journey to serve and influence the world.

Food Service at Crown College is provided by Sodexo Quality of Life Services. For more details visit their web site here.

Students with medical/dietary concerns may be granted an exemption to the Meal Plan if their needs cannot be adequately met through the Food Service program. Crown College Food Service is willing to make special accommodations to work with students to meet their dietary needs and certain exemption requests may not be granted.

Students must submit information from their medical doctor on a “Food Plan Exemption” form available from Student Development. The Meal Plan Exemption Committee will evaluate the Exemption Form and will determine whether Crown’s Food Service can accommodate modifications to the student’s nutritional plan or whether another exemption is in order. The Committee will keep all personal health information strictly confidential.

We have dedicated computer labs for your use. Each student also has a 1,000-page printer-credit each year.

The Watne Memorial Library provides more than 100,000 volumes and dozens of online databases, including World Cat, the most comprehensive online catalog, to aid you in your academic growth. We offer language resources, laptops, camera equipment, and more. Many find our library a one-stop-shop for your academic needs.

We love to help! Need a tutor? Or help writing a paper? Or need to make up a test? All of these can be done in the academic center. The center is dedicated to helping students gain academic success.

The Study Lab offers open hours for tutoring with no appointment required. Tutoring assistance is provided for numerous courses including but not limited to Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, American Civilization, World Civilization, and many more. Students are also encouraged to bring research papers and written compositions to the Study Lab for review before submission. In addition to the services already mentioned the Study Lab also runs numerous subject-specific study groups throughout each semester.

The tutors working in the Study Lab have been selected based upon their high academic performance, ability to work with others, and completion of courses in which they are providing assistance. The tutors regularly work with professors to provide students assistance with the most recent materials and information being covered in class.

Finding ways to pay for college can be challenging. We have work-study job opportunities in every part of the college. Students enjoy working in places that understand they are also students.

Crown College seeks to provide a positive educational experience for all of our students. We strive to assist and encourage students to achieve their fullest potential. In compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Crown College does not discriminate against students with disabilities. Every effort is made to arrange effective and reasonable accommodations for qualified students. Students who would like to receive accommodation must provide appropriate and up-to-date documentation from a qualified professional. Since each individual may have varied and specific needs, based upon their own unique disability, it is recommended that students meet with the Director of Disability Services upon arrival at our campus.
