Crown College Launches New Learning Center in Omaha, Nebraska

Crown College is pleased to announced the official launch of Crown College Omaha!

The exciting new chapter of academic expansion unites two well-established institutions, both part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination.

Crown College started in 1916 and now offers over 40 degree programs, both on-campus in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota, and through a growing online program. Christ Community Church (CCC) is a vibrant church in Omaha and home to approximately 3,600 people.

Crown College Omaha began offering on-site classes in Omaha on Monday, August 27. The four degree programs available at this time include a B.S. in Psychology/Counseling, a B.S. in Christian Ministry, a B.S. in Biblical Studies, and an M.A. in Counseling. On-site classes meet one evening each week from 6 P.M. – 9 P.M., easily accommodating many busy schedules. For students who prefer the online learning environment, the four Omaha degrees and numerous additional degree programs and emphases are also available in an online format through Crown College.

Students can take approximately half of their core classes on-site at CCC, and the remaining portion of their program through the Crown College School of Online Studies and Graduate Studies (SOSGS). Face-to-face professors in vocational ministry, psychology, and counseling will create a dynamic link between what the students learn in the classroom and practical application in the marketplace and in ministry.

This exciting expansion provides an accredited, biblically-based education from a well-known Christian college. Students can transfer credits from other colleges while staying in the Omaha area. Scholarship programs and financial aid are available.

“We are excited for the expansion of our ministry and counseling programs into Omaha. This is a great opportunity to serve the Christian community in and around Omaha,” says Dr. Fawn McCracken, Associate Vice President of the SOSGS at Crown College. “Crown College Omaha will provide adult students an opportunity to stay engaged in their local ministries, jobs, and families while pursuing a degree from a Christian college.”

Classes will take place at The Porch, a separate building on the CCC campus located in the Old Mill near the intersection of 108th and Dodge Streets. The Porch also houses CityCare Counseling, a faith-based counseling center also serving the community. Crown College Omaha launched its first semester with over 65 Crown College students in Omaha, including 22 CCC resident students. The CCC residents are acquiring two years of practical ministry experience by serving with the CCC staff team in areas such as youth ministry, spiritual formation, and counseling/care.

“We need a robust pipeline of emerging leaders for every aspect of the church,” says Lead Pastor Mark Ashton at CCC. “Crown College Omaha will help us train and equip leaders to serve in ministry for years to come.”

For students seeking practical, hands-on experience right in Omaha accompanied by the fully-accredited training a Christian college provides, Crown College Omaha is an exciting opportunity.
