Crown College Hosts Alumni Golf Tournament on July 27
Posted April 26th, 2018
There’s nothing like a golf tournament to bring people together.
On July 27, Crown College will hold the first Alumni Golf Tournament at Pioneer Creek Golf Course in Maple Plain. The College is hosting alumni, staff, local businesspeople, and pastors in a pristine golf setting that’s just north of campus, allowing former students and faculty to mingle on the fairways and tee boxes, and to join together to support the mission of Crown.
One unique treat this year is that participants can arrange for housing near the tournament. The host homes, modeled after a bed and breakfast, will provide a place to sleep and a morning breakfast before the tournament at no cost. For alumni who attended Crown in the ‘70s or ‘80s, there’s a brunch meal taking place at a host home in Carver, Minn. The brunch is from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Julie Tewinkel Sharpe’s. If you plan to attend, please RSVP with Heidi Fitch.
“This is the time to gather friends from your college days,” says Jill Osborn, the Vice President of External Relations at Crown College. “Which class has the best golfers? The challenge is on!”
Of course, even if you can’t attend there is still a way to support Crown. For $500, you can sponsor a hole with a sign for your business or organization. For $1000, you can sponsor a hole with a sign and receive passes to the tournament for four players.
Registration for, or donating to, the golf event is available here.
As stated by Heidi Fitch, an alumna instrumental in the success of this event: “Spread the word! We want our alumni, our students, and their families to get involved. Along with your participation, please reach out to others and help generate enthusiasm for supporting Crown College in this way. We are hoping to fill every slot for this fabulous tournament.”
If you want more information on hosting participants, to stay at an alumni “bed and breakfast”, or to attend Monday’s brunch, contact Heidi Fitch at email@example.com or 630-881-3730.
