How Your Program Is Unique Here:
Our programs provide the academic training needed for women and men to more effectively minister to those around them through their chosen professions. Working in the School of Online Studies provides unique opportunities for us to educate students while they are already serving all over the world.

From A Career Standpoint, What Students Will Be Prepared To Do With A Degree From Your Program:
Students in the programs that I supervise are equipped to be leaders in international and domestic contexts. They can do this as pastors, community developers, educators, leaders of non-profits, counselors and disaster response professionals.

I was raised in a Christian family and dedicated my life to Christ in my home with my parents when I was 10 years old. My faith is at the core of who I am and what I do. It is a privilege to work at Crown where I can integrate faith into my courses and challenge my students to become better servants of Christ.

Favorite Bible Verse and Why:
Micah 6:8: He has shown you what is good and what the Lord requires of you: to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

To me this is the life of a Christian in a nutshell. I like the verse so much, that my oldest son bears the prophet Micah’s name.

Before Crown:
Before Crown I worked for almost 25 years at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. I served there as a Residence Hall Director, Director of International Studies, Missions and Outreach Pastor, and Chair for the Christian Ministries Program in the College of Adult and Professional Studies.

I’ve also worked for many years as the Director of Academic Programs for Students International, a Christian missions and study abroad organization.

What You Enjoy Most About Teaching at Crown:
I enjoy my colleagues. We have a great team in the School of Online Studies.

I enjoy my students. They are eager learners who continually challenge me to think in new ways.

I enjoy online education. It allows me to work to find creative ways to deliver quality education to people engaged in ministry all over the world.

How You Define “Academic Excellence”:
Academic excellence is providing students with the skills necessary to confidently engage the marketplace of ideas.

What You Would Say to Parents of Prospective Students About Having Their Son/Daughter at Crown:
The faculty and staff at Crown care deeply about the students that they work with. Students will learn from accomplished teachers, but more than that, they will be mentored and disciple by a whole community of faith.
