Alumna Returns for Christmas Party

Recording artist Rachel Weber returned to her Alma Mater to bring Christmas spirit to the faculty/staff Christmas party

"I’m excited about returning to play for this group because this is where my dreams began," said Rachel as she opened her set at the party, reflecting on her time at Crown.

Growing up the youngest of four, Rachel remembers singing songs in an empty silo on the old family farm in Hugo, Minnesota. Singing has long been a passion for her, and on April 9, 2009, she released her album "Beautifully Broken." To hear short clips from the album, visit Rachel Weber.

Rachel graduated with an associates degree in music performance from Crown College and married fellow Crown alum, A.J. Hofstetter. She began her career as a song writer when her family was faced with the loss of her sister, who was also an inspiration for Rachel.

Her passion has now become a ministry, as she seeks to reach out through her music to those who have been broken and are in need of a place to turn for answers. She writes on her website: "One of the greatest realizations that I have received through this amazing process has been this: I have a reason to sing these songs and it is ... the listener. I found that when it is just talent it cannot grow, but when something becomes inspired it can change lives."

The mission of Crown College is to provide a biblically-based education for Christian leadership in The Christian and Missionary Alliance, the church at-large, and the world.
