Scholarships
Over $6 million dollars in aid is given out each year!
Crown College offers a variety of institutional scholarships and grants that serve as financial aid every student. In order to receive all institutional scholarships, a student must complete a FAFSA, be accepted and enrolled full-time, demonstrate financial need, and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Institutional aid will not exceed tuition.
Military Scholarships
Scholarship for registered service members (as indicated by an honorable discharge DD-214 or current military transcript). This scholarship is intended to assist with the gap between VA funding and the school bill. Amounts vary based on financial need. This scholarship is funded in part by the American Legion Post #580, Chanhassen, MN. Complete the online Military Scholarship application. Service members must have a 2.0 undergraduate or a 3.0 graduate cumulative GPA at Crown and be enrolled at least half-time.
Christian Ministry Scholarship
Are you a young adult who senses the call to Christian ministry? Are you concerned about the time and money that it might take to complete your undergraduate and seminary training? Are you looking for a place to be mentored and prepared for a life of ministry impact? Crown’s Christian Ministry Scholarship is an initiative designed to:
- Prepare young leaders (under 25 years of age) who are called to Christian ministry.
- Accelerate their training so that they complete an undergraduate and seminary degree (MA or M.Div.) in just five years.
- Save students $9,000 – $18,000 in graduate tuition.
- Provide a mentoring community to those committed to accelerated ministry training.
The Christian Ministry Initiative is a flexible program providing the option for both On-Campus and Online students to combine an undergraduate and graduate degree. The following degree tracks are currently a part of this program.
For School of Arts and Sciences (On-Campus) students:
- BA in Biblical & Theological Studies + MA in Christian Studies (maintain 3.0 GPA)
- BS in Next Gen Ministry Leadership + MA in Christian Studies (maintain 3.0 GPA)
- BA in Pastoral Leadership + MA in Christian Studies (maintain 3.0 GPA)
- BS in Worship Ministry + MA in Christian Studies (maintain 3.0 GPA)
- BS in Youth & Social Ministry + MA in Christian Studies (maintain 3.0 GPA)
- BA in Biblical & Theological Studies + Master of Divinity (maintain 3.5 GPA)
- BS in Next Gen Ministry Leadership + Master of Divinity (maintain 3.5 GPA)
- BA in Pastoral Leadership + Master of Divinity (maintain 3.5 GPA)
- BS in Worship Ministry + Master of Divinity (maintain 3.5 GPA)

As an added benefit, students who meet the Christian Ministry Scholarship criteria will be eligible to receive:
- Grants to help with graduate course fees during their junior and senior years.
Additional grant of $4,500 during their 5th (M.A.) or 5th and 6th years (M.Div.) divided in equal parts.
C&MA Official Worker Scholarship
If you are an official, licensed, worker in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, we are offering a 25% tuition reduction for all online, degree-seeking, programs. This scholarship also extends to the spouse of an official worker.

Outside Scholarships
In addition to financial aid awarded by Crown College, students can apply for outside scholarships. Scholarship search sites, such as FastWeb.com, SallieMae.com/scholarship, Scholarships.com and TuitionFundingSources.com provide thousands of nation-wide scholarships. You can also search for outside scholarships in your community. Any connections you and your family have to organizations or businesses may offer scholarships that are not advertised.
Applying for outside scholarships can take a lot of time and effort. Being prepared with a good application and well-written essay is the best way to make your search pay off. Scholarship opportunities can arise at any time, so continue to search throughout your college education.

2023–2024
Grants
Pell Grant
Qualifications
Must be an undergraduate, degree-seeking student with qualifying financial need who does not have a prior bachelor’s degree.
Award Amount
The maximum Federal Pell Grant award is $7,395 for the 2023-2024 award year.
Application Requirements
Applicants must complete the FAFSA.
Minnesota State Grant
Qualifications
All Minnesota residents who are enrolled for at least three credits per term and are working towards a degree or certificate may apply for the Minnesota State Grant. Missionaries who had Minnesota residency before going to the mission field and have continued to file Minnesota State tax forms are considered Minnesota residents for the purposes of this program.
Award Amount
Minnesota State Grant awards are contingent upon approval of state funding levels and are subject to change. Award amounts are based on an assumed enrollment of 15 credits per semester and can be adjusted downward, according to the state’s formula once enrollment is confirmed. The state only provides funding to undergraduate students through their fourth year of education.
The average award is approximately $5,203.
Application Requirements
Applicants must complete the FAFSA within 30 days of the term start date.
Award Letter Information
Financial Aid offers
Once an applicant is accepted to Crown and the financial aid file is complete, a financial aid offer will be prepared and emailed to the applicant. This offer will include information and requirements for student loans (if applicable). Financial aid is normally based on full-time enrollment (12+ credits per term for undergraduate students and 6+ credits for graduate students). Any reduction in credits below full-time levels may affect a student’s financial aid package. Financial aid will be recalculated for undergraduate students enrolled for less than 12 credits.
Verification
The Department of Education selects a percentage of financial aid applicants for a process called verification. Crown College may also select students for verification. Selected students must complete and submit the following documents:
- Verification worksheet (supplied by Crown)
- A signed IRS tax return or tax transcript (if requested)
- IRS W2 Forms (if requested)
- Other documents as needed
Students selected for verification will be notified by the Department of Education and/or Crown College. Verification documents should be submitted within 30 days of request. Federal funds cannot be disbursed until all documents are submitted.
