Elementary Education Degree

Bachelor of Science (BS)

The Elementary Education Bachelor of Science degree is designed to prepare students for a public and private teaching career in grades K-6. The program is structured to meet the Minnesota Board of Teaching Elementary Education licensure requirements. Students interested in an Elementary Education major without an endorsement must have prior approval from the Teacher Education Department. The student must be accepted into the Teacher Education Department and meet all of the requirements.

Students apply for the Teacher Education Department during Foundations of Education. Students will be required to take the MTLE Basic Skills tests as part of their application to the department. Students who graduate from the Teacher Education department are eligible to apply for a first-time full professional license. In order to do so, students will need to have passed the MTLE Basic Skills, Pedagogy and Content tests.

At Crown College, well over 90% of our new graduates are employed or continuing their education in a master’s degree program.

The Office of Career Development at Crown is here to help you with your future career and can assist with resume development, career counseling, internships, and job placement.
