About the Music Department

When you join the music department at Crown College you will be able to develop your musicianship as you grow personally and spiritually in an invigorating Christian community.

Performance is a valued element of Crown's music degrees. The College Choir, Chamber Choir, Women's Choir, Crown Brass and Crown Orchestra are the ensembles in which students can participate to sharpen their skills while performing brilliant music. Every two years, the College and Chamber Choirs travel overseas, most often to Europe. Students may also take part in traveling music teams like LifeVoice and the drama troupe, Encore. Besides the annual Christmas in Crown Chapel, the music department also presents a spring musical, recitals and special musical events throughout the year.

Worship Arts majors receive hands-on training in ministry. A key part of their program is the six-month internship in the second semester of their junior year. While working alongside a worship pastor in the U.S. or abroad, students prepare for real-life ministry while still a student.

Why choose a Music degree at Crown College?

You have already come this far with your music; we want to help you take the next step. Through our formal studies, applied lessons and performing groups, we'll help you become the best musician you can be. Upon graduation you will not only be able to "speak the language" of the wider music community, but you will also join them as a highly trained musician. As you develop your personal and spiritual life in a community of faith and learning, you will learn what it looks like to represent Christ in the world.

Our professors are motivated, qualified Christian musicians with backgrounds as professional musicians or educators. They take personal interest in their students and the small faculty-to-student ratio will enable you to interact and engage with them one-to-one as they guide you in your studies.
