About the Business and Sport Management department
The Sport Management major prepares students to serve Christ as marketplace missionaries in the field of sport management in both the private and public sectors. The degree is designed to assist students in acquiring organizational and managerial expertise in the health, fitness and sport management fields as well as to assist students in gaining an understanding of personnel management and supervisory dynamics.
The primary mission of the Business Department at Crown College is to prepare students to fulfill their God-given calling as a marketplace missionary (Eph 4:12). While striving to accomplish this mission, the department develops the student's ability to creatively solve real-world problems by utilizing higher-level critical thinking skills. In doing this, we hope to encourage students to become self-directed, life-long learners and teachers.
Upon graduation, students will be prepared for careers in business, licensing, sports marketing, and management. Students attending Crown have an excellent opportunity to pursue careers in any of these fields because of the College's close proximity to the Twin Cities. This metropolitan area is home to many of the Fortune 500 companies, including Target, 3M, Best Buy, General Mills and U.S. Bancorp as well as professional teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and major colleges. Our location not only provides students with an excellent place to start a career, but it also provides students with countless opportunities for jobs, internships and on-site training.
Why choose Business and Sport Management at Crown?
The real difference in our program is the 30-credit focus in Bible and theology; graduates not only know what they believe the understand how to communicate that belief to a lost and dying world. The reason a student would chose to become a business major at Crown College is simple-they know that God has called them to a non-traditional ministry that will change the world! And one person can certainly change the world for God (Acts 19:9 -10).
