Elementary Mathematics Education
Full-time, Tenure Track
Start: July 1, 2012
Crown College has a Minnesota approved licensing program for K-6 teaching and is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty person at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor in Elementary Mathematics Education.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·teaching mathematics education courses to elementary teacher candidates and specially-designed mathematics courses to elementary and middle grades teacher candidates;
·teaching other education classes; and supporting undergraduate students seeking initial certification in teaching Middle School mathematics and certification in elementary education;
·strong commitment to quality teaching in a broad range of courses at the undergraduate level;
·commitment to Christian higher education, innovation, and collaboration in working with schools and colleagues.
The successful candidate shall have:
·Ph.D./Ed.D. or ABD in Mathematics Education, Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field with a focus in elementary mathematics education and/or mathematics knowledge needed for teaching.
·3 years of successful teaching experience in K-6 schools or equivalent settings
·Effective teaching experience in higher education
·Commitment to Christian higher education
·Collaborative spirit in working with partnership schools and colleagues
·Commitment to personally support and practice the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant
·Ability to integrate knowledge and faith
·Commitment to mentoring young leaders
Preferred Requirements:
·Experience in integrating technology into teaching
·Active participation in professional education organizations
·The College values participation in an evangelical church and community service
