Jeff Johnson

A.S. in Veterinary Medicine, Medical Institute of Minnesota - Bloomington, MN

B.S. in Psychology/Counseling, Crown College Online - St. Bonifacius, MN (current)

Veteran, United States Marine Corps

Jeff's path to Crown, like most of our students, was special. He's served in the military, the corporate world - he's even been a golf pro! And just like our students, Jeff's Crown experience has enriched his life.

Jeff, what is your favorite thing about working at Crown College?

“The people; never have I worked in such a friendly, comfortable and spiritual setting. Everyone you come in contact with on a daily basis is kind, caring and compassionate. We all work hard for our students and for each other, because we know we are bringing others and ourselves closer to Christ.”

What do you enjoy most in life?

“In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy several outdoor activities such as motorcycling, hiking, camping and golf. Model building, cooking and darts are also some of my hobbies.”

What did you do before working at Crown?

“Before coming to work at Crown, I was in the Property Management field. I also have prior experience as a Golf Professional, Retail Manager, Automobile Service & Repair and the Military. All of these experiences were stepping stones strategically placed before me by God enroute to my greater calling here at Crown College.”

Tamera Kempel

Tamera Kempel

B.S. in Psychology, Crown College Online - St. Bonifacius, MN (current)

We are so glad to have Tamera as a part of our team. Whenever she isn't helping students navigate their degree options, you can find Tamera cheering on her daughters at their soccer games, walking on a Minnesota trail, or whipping up a healthy meal in the kitchen.

Tamera, what are your favorite things about working at Crown?

"My favorite things about working at Crown begin the minute my car turns into the driveway and I am surrounded by our beautiful campus grounds! Beyond that, I love working in an environment that reminds me of God’s Grace and His Glory each day as he allows me to reach out to students who want to begin or continue their educational journey with Him by their side."

What are your favorite things about life?

"I love spending time with my husband, my daughters, family, and friends. Both of my teenage daughters play competitive soccer and I do my best to never miss a game! I enjoy traveling, especially road trips! I enjoy fitness, and love to combine fitness with my love of nature, so walking Crown’s beautiful campus grounds has become a favorite lunchtime activity! Finally, when I have the time, I love to cook healthy meals and snacks. Of course, I enjoy not-so-healthy treats too, but a favorite pastime of mine is to take a not-so-healthy food choice and reinvent it in a healthy, but delicious way!"

What did you do before working at Crown?

"Before coming to Crown, I worked as a college advisor for a proprietary school.  I enjoyed my interaction with the students very much. However, my heart was called in a different direction. I feel very blessed to be able to continue my career in higher education at Crown College."

Rob Wilkening

B.S. in Finance, University of Minnesota

We are so glad to have Rob on our team. He is active in his community and has a track record of successful professional performance that will help our students reach their academic goals.

What are your favorite things about life?

I volunteer serving as President of the Crown College Alumni Association, President and founder of the CCLS Foundation, Treasurer of the CCLS Board of Education, Planning Commissioner for the City of Watertown, and member of the American Legion.  More recently, I enjoy traveling as I build relationships by hosting and visiting foreign exchange students from around the world. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

What did you do before working at Crown?

Before coming to Crown, my previous employment includes working at United Health Group serving as a Resolution Expert and also assisted in the development of a major piece of high tech software called ISET.  In 2004, I was awarded by Microsoft as one of the top 20 IT professionals in the country as an expert in internet security.  I also worked for Mayo Foundation, where I was part of Mayo’s EDI workgroup in the development of Mayo’s Patient Accounting System.  While I have done so much in my lifetime,  my greatest achievement was being the President of the Board of Education in a Christian Day School which I led to developed a “Spirit Lead” capital funds campaign to reorganize and build a new school project entitled; “Our Mission, One with a Vision!”  This vision allowed us to carry out that calling in bringing people to Christ as CCLS was born. But I will confess that I never realized that God was putting me in these areas of my journey until I found Crown College. The network for friends that I have discovered has been amazing.  Other lifetime achievements have been serving on the Watertown-Mayer Public School Board as we took on a $54 Million Dollar Building Project and Member of the Minnesota Army National Guard for 9 years where I was a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Specialist.  I was part of a team in the training of troops for the Gulf War.
