Tou Lee wanted to go to an Alliance school, and he knew about Crown because his youth pastor was a Crown alumni. “I wanted to come for a youth major, but I went on a short-term trip to Thailand and God just placed a big burden on my heart for people overseas.”

For Tou Lee, relationships are the most valuable part of his Crown experience and says, “I know [the friends I’ve made at Crown] are going to be partners with me in ministry.” The integration of both the spiritual and academic aspects as a student is evident to Tou Lee. “Through homework and studying, you’re worshiping God, so you have to take that seriously,” he says. “It’s just wonderful to take a class and be able to dive into God’s Word.” Through the “constant ‘buffet’ of God’s Word” and various Bible classes, Tou Lee notes the safe learning environment that Crown offers while students work through their questions about theology. He says, “I think it would’ve been really dangerous for me to figure out my beliefs anywhere but here.”
