“There’s something very real about the people here. I’ve really appreciated the relationships I’ve made at Crown.”

Degree: Nursing

Wants to impact the world by being a nurse.
Though she had been considering going to a community college for a nursing degree, Bethany says, “I wanted to be taught nursing from a Christian viewpoint.” She explains how she made it to that point of wanting to be a nurse. “I had always thought it’d be cool to do nursing, but I thought the classes would be way over my head. I love taking care of other people, and my mom finally encouraged me to think about becoming a nurse. And I knew if that’s what God wanted me to do, He’d get me through it. I’ve ended up absolutely loving nursing classes.”
According to Bethany, her biggest challenge is “learning how to motivate myself to study. You’re going to learn as much—or as little—as what you push yourself to learn.” Bethany notes the aspect of the Crown community: “There’s something very real about the people here,” Bethany states. “I’ve really appreciated the relationships I’ve made at Crown.”
In addition to classes and friends, Bethany has been taking in spiritual lessons as well. “As I’ve been getting closer to graduation,” she says, “I’ve really learned to trust God for my future and not worry about what’s going to happen.” Yet she does know this: “Crown has really cultivated in me a heart for missions. I’m really excited about possibly going overseas.”
