The State of Minnesota, in cooperation with colleges throughout the state, offers academically advanced students the opportunity to get a head start on their college education through the Post-Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO). Crown College offers online PSEO classes to all qualifying students who reside in Minnesota including students enrolled in public and private schools, as well as home-educated high school students.

PSEO is designed to encourage academically qualified high school students to consider completing high school requirements at the college level. By enrolling in classes at Crown College, students can complete both high school and college credits at the same time through this state-funded program.

Crown College offers three options for students who wish to participate in this state program. Details and general requirements vary by option.

Application Deadlines

  • Commuter - deadline is May 1
  • Residential - deadline is June 15
  • Online - deadline is June 15

PSEO Commuter

The PSEO Commuter program is for seniors in high school that are residents of Minnesota and are interested in taking classes on the Crown College campus but living at home.

  • High School GPA admissions requirement: 3.25
  • Crown College limits the number of admitted PSEO Commuter students to 25 each year.

PSEO Residential

The PSEO Residential program is for seniors in high school that are residents of Minnesota. If you choose to come to Crown as a PSEO Residential student, you will be integrated into the College as if you were a college freshman. Because PSEO Residential students live in the dorms and participate in all areas of residential life, they are required to abide by the Community Covenant as outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog and the Student Handbook.

  • PSEO Residential students are responsible to pay for their room and board.  The state does not reimburse for this cost.

PSEO Online

The PSEO Online program is for juniors or seniors in high school that are residents of Minnesota and are interested in taking classes through the internet from their home.

  • High School GPA admissions requirement for seniors: 3.25

Enhance Program

ENHANCE is a residential program that provides high school seniors who are not residents of Minnesota the opportunity to complete high school credits while earning college credits. Costs, admissions policies, and certain student life considerations are established by Crown College. Because the ENHANCE Program is a private educational program of Crown College, the student and family assumes responsibility for the cost of the program. If you choose to come to Crown as an ENHANCE student, you will be integrated into the College as if you were a college freshman.
