Students from around the globe find their place at Crown

Crown welcomes all international students and Third Culture Kids! We continually desire greater diversity in our student body, faculty and staff and we highly value the global perspective you bring as well as the unique experiences that have shaped you.

What is a TCK?

A Third Culture Kid (or a "TCK") is someone who has lived in another culture other than his or her own and creates a third culture by combining elements of that culture with his or her native culture.

Crown has a growing number of TCKs who have lived all over the world (see the list below). We offer clubs like Mu Kappa to connect you with other TCKs and to promote integration into the larger student body.

I was born and raised in Germany, so the thought of attending an American college made me really anxious. When I first came to Crown, I did not really know what to expect. However, I soon learned that there was nothing to be anxious about. All of the people were very accepting and kind; they all worked really hard to welcome me and make me feel at home. Through Mu Kappa (our club for MKs, TCKs, and international students) I got to know people from different cultures around the world—people who understand me and my situation.

If you’re interested in learning more about Crown, or would like to talk with me about being an international student here, please write me at: schroeteda07@students.crown.edu. I would love to hear from you!
