Work-Study job openings for the 2010-2011 Academic Year

To apply for a Federal Work-Study job you must be eligible for work-study. (Eligibility notice is sent with the Initial Financial Aid Award). Listed below are jobs that are open for the 2010-2011 academic year. Jobs will be added for Fall 2010 as they become available. (subject to change as positions are filled). Once you have decided on an area of interest, print and complete the following job application, making sure to list the job(s) you are interested in.

Athletics

Some of the positions required include but are not limited to:  Concessions, ticket taker, bookkeeper, ball retrieval, scoreboard entry, public address, filming and event music.

Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be proficient in multiple areas related to game management. They will also be committed to working events regularly, self-motivated, willing to adhere to all policies and practices of the Athletic Department, and intent on hosting quality athletic events at Crown.

Days/Hours needed: Mostly afternoons and evenings which include many Friday nights and most Saturdays during the semester.

Career Services

Communicate with employers and post jobs and internships. Assist Director with administrative tasks. Use computer and telephone to communicate with employers about jobs that you will post on our web site, and campus bulletin boards. Help coordinate recruiter visits to campus.

Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills, especially telephone skills, and computer skills (Microsoft Word and Publisher, Internet and e-mail), the ability to learn new software, and attention to detail.

Starting August 30,2010 - Ending April 29, 2011.
5-8 hours a week, flexible day time hours.

Chapel - Set-up/Tear-down Crew Member

Non Work-Study Position. Approx 8 hours a week. Ability to lift and carry equipment, Assist chapel team with set up and take down of chapel equipment.

Specific Days needed: MWF before and/or after chapel, Sunday evenings.

Nursing

Primarily, assist with Nursing Lab Maintenance and operation. Secondarily, assist as back-up in Nursing office with light, general office duties.

Assist in the maintenance of manikins and equipment within the Nursing Lab, order lab supplies as requested, assist nursing faculty and students to set-up for scenarios and lab simulations, provide tours of the Nursing Lab as requested, maintain a clean environment. Physical requirements: walking, stooping, bending, pulling (Significant strength, endurance and balance are required for many of these tasks)

Qualifications: Nursing major preferred. Must be self-starter, able to work independently.

Starting 9/1/2010 - Ending 4/29/2011
Monday - Friday, Hours negotiable.
