The Needs of Haiti
This coming spring, Dr. Bristol will be taking another group of nursing students to Haiti to collaborate with their first BSN program. Many great needs exist in Haiti related to healthcare and infrastructure. When the Crown nursing students are able to see these needs firsthand their worldview is completely changed as the Holy Spirit demonstrates first hand how they can be used in a very practical way. The 2008 trip had such a huge impact on students that 2 students are returning in 2009. From the Haitian Nursing student side, they are so motivated to see American's taking the time to work with them and learn about their world. We view this as a great collaborative that allows our students to be challenged professionally and spiritually.
We hope that you will consider partnering with us as we seek to make this experience accessible to nursing students. For the 10 students we need to raise about $18,000 before February. To date we have raised $2,500 and the students are working hard to find other funding sources. As you can imagine in today's financial climate, this is a tough chore. Checks can be made out directly to Crown College with "Haiti Trip" in the memo. You can mail your donation to:
