Filing the FAFSA

FAFSA's can be completed after January 1, 2013 at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to use accurate, completed 2012 tax return information on your FAFSA. Allow 7 to 10 business days for your FAFSA results to be received at Crown. Crown's Title IV code is 002383.

2013-2014 Financial Aid Award Packages

The Financial Aid Office will begin preparing 2013-2014 financial aid award packages to students who have completed the FAFSA and to students who have elected not to complete the FAFSA (please notify the Financial Aid Office). Each year the federal government selects a percentage of FAFSA applicants for Verification; this can delay the delivery of a student's financial aid award package. Students selected for the Verification process will be contacted by our office and informed regarding what documents they must submit.

**Priority Date for FAFSA**

This is the priority date for filing your 2013-2014 FAFS4.  FAFSAs processed by April 15, 2013 will be given priority consideration for financial aid. FAFSAs received after this date will be considered for aid based on the availability of funds.

Securing Your Stafford Loan(s)

The timeframe to complete the process of securing your Federal Stafford Loans to allow enough processing time for the loan to be completed by the fall bill due date (Aug 30). This process includes returning your signed initial award letter and completing both Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note at http://www.studentloans.gov/

Securing Your Private Alternative or Parent (PLUS) Loan

If you are applying for a Private Alternative Loan or your parent is applying for a Parent (PLUS) Loan you should complete the process during this timeframe to ensure the approval of funding.  Please visit crown.edu/loans for more information and application instructions for Private Alternative and Parent (PLUS) Loans.

Receiving Your Required Documents

This is the date by which Crown should have received your FAFSA results as well as all required documentation (e.g. for scholarships or Verification).  Students can submit financial aid application materials after this date, but we cannot guarantee that it will be reviewed and processed before the fall bill due date (Aug 30).

Fall Bill Due Date
