Scholarships and Grants



Federal Pell Grant

Qualifications:  Must be an undergraduate, degree seeking student and demonstrate financial need.

Dollar Amount:  Awards range from $400 to $4,050 per year.

Application Requirements:  Applicants must complete the FAFSA.


Minnesota State Grant

Qualifications:  All Minnesota residents who are enrolled for at least three credits per term and are working towards a degree or certificate may apply for the Minnesota State Grant.  Missionaries who had Minnesota residency before going to the mission field and have continued to file Minnesota State tax forms are considered Minnesota residents for the purposes of this program.

Dollar Amount:  State Grant awards range from $200 to over $7,000 per year.

Application Requirements:  Applicants must complete the FAFSA.


Crown Tuition Grant

The Crown tuition grant is for students who are enrolled full-time and whose home church is enrolled in the Tuition Grant Program.

The size of the tuition grant depends on the giving level of the student's home church. The giving percentage is based on the church's general operating budget. The following percentages will receive the corresponding tuition grant per academic school year:

Student applicants must complete the Crown College Application for Financial Aid.

Church Matching Scholarship Program

The Crown College Church Matching Scholarship Program exists to encourage churches to support their students in obtaining a Christian education. Listed below are requirements and guidelines for participating in the Crown College Church Matching Scholarship Program:

Crown College Matching Policy

Crown College will match your scholarship dollar for dollar, up to the amounts listed below, provided the following criteria are met:

  1. Meet the April 1 notification deadline. Notify the Financial Aid Office of your scholarship recipients using a copy of the Student Award Form. Your Student Award Forms are due by April 1 for the following academic year. 
  2. Submit scholarship dollars by August 1 for Fall, and December 1 for Spring. Please make checks payable to Crown College and forward them to the Financial Aid Office with a cover letter identifying the recipients. If your scholarship dollars cannot be submitted by the deadlines, please contact our office. 
  3. Student maintains a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average. Student recipients must be full time (Undergraduate - 12 credits; Graduate - 6 credits) and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 to receive a Crown Matching Scholarship.

Crown offers the Ministry Matching Scholarship for Students in the Online program.

Ministry Matching Scholarship (Online Students Only)

Qualifications:   Students enrolled in the online program whose home church or denomination contributes a certain percentage towards the tuition costs.  Students must be accepted into the online program and registered for online classes.

Dollar Amount:   Crown will match the church or denomination percentage up to 25% of tuition. If the church and/or denomination contributes more than 75% of tuition, then Crown will adjust the matching portions so the combined amount does not exceed 100% of tuition.   Crown's matching portion may also be adjusted if the student receives State and/or Pell Grant.  The Ministry Matching Scholarship may not be combined with any other Crown discounts, grants or scholarships.

Application Requirements:  Complete the online ministry matching scholarship application.   Student applicants must complete their portion of the online ministry matching scholarship application.   Then the church and/or denomination must complete their section and return the completed form to the Crown College Financial Aid Office. 

Deadline:   The church and/or denomination contribution deadline is August 1 for the fall semester and December 15 for the spring semester.   Please make checks payable to Crown College and forward them to the Financial Aid Office with a cover letter identifying the recipients.
