Education Benefit Information

The Montgomery GI Bill provides a personal stipend of $1,075 per month for up to 36 months of education for full-time students. Payment amounts are reduced proportionately for part-time status. Visit the VA website for more information about current rates.

Veteran education benefits must be reported on your FAFSA. Your eligibility for federal subsidized loans will not be affected, but your education benefits will be included as income when your eligibility for campus-based aid is considered. This will affect aid such as Federal Perkins, work-study programs, and matching grants.

Veterans generally have up to 10 years to use their benefits although certain circumstances may shorten or lengthen the time limit.
