Achieved an MBA from the University of St Thomas Opus College of Business in St Paul Minnesota, an AACSB accredited college of business. My concentration in Finance and Economics included coursework in International Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Management, International Economics, Economics of Strategy, and Applied Economic Business Forecast Modeling.
My primary role at the College is that of the Director of Operations in the Finance and Operations Division. I manage purchasing, business operations, legal and risk management operations, and capital projects and provide oversight to the Bookstore, Campus Events, Foodservice, and Facility Management Services (custodial, grounds, maintenance, physical plant, safety and environmental services). I also serve as an Operations Division Representative on the President?s Council and advise, discuss, and aid in the development of institutional policy and strategy, including NCA Strategic Planning and Masterplanning Initiatives. The Operations Division is made up of approximately 30 full time staff, 5 part time staff, 55 contracted workers, 60 college work study, and dozens of independent contractors.
I am a licensed consultant through Joel Barker's Institute for Strategic Exploration and often facilitate large group explorations of strategic initiatives and business process reengineering initiatives. Strategic Exploration is useful for exploring the possible implications of major decisions, and business process reengineering involves exploring every aspect of a process, service, or policy to ensure that maximum efficiency and effectiveness have been achieved.
Prior to my work within the higher education industry I owned and operated a small corporate construction and remodeling firm and worked in the construction management field for ten years on the west coast of the United States and in northern Minnesota.
