Crown College has a dedicated and disciplined team of professionals who oversee the College's daily functions. We invite you to meet these leaders and learn about their backgrounds and interests.

James M. Hunter

As Dean of the Crown College School of Online Studies & Graduate School, Jim oversees all of the academic, enrollment and student services for the Online division of the College.

Dr. Hunter received his B.S. at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Crown College and a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Prior to coming to Crown in the summer of 2004, Jim served as a soccer coach at Faith Baptist Bible College and Cedarville University. Since arriving at Crown, Jim has served as the Men's and Women's Soccer Coach, Director of Athletics, Associate Director of Adult & Graduate Programs, Director of Enrollment and Director of Admissions.

Jim and his wife, Michele reside in Waconia with their four kids, JD, Ryan, Lexi and Sophia.

Scott Moats

As Vice President for Academics, Scott serves as the chief academic officer, overseeing all of the academic programs at the College.

Dr. Moats received his B.A. at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.  He continued his education at the Alliance Theological Seminary in New York.  He also has an M.A. from the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Moats received a Master of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota and furthered his education at the University of Minnesota to receive a P.h.D. in Educational Policy and Administration. 

Prior to coming to Crown in the fall of 1991, Scott served as senior pastor to a church plant in Pembroke Pines, Florida. 1988 - 1991.  He then joined the Crown College team in 1991 as the director of Career Services and Christian Service.  Since arriving at Crown, Scott has served as a Professor and Department Chair before serving as the Academic Dean.  While at Crown he has contributed to  the CCCU Leadership Development,  served on  the Waconia School Board and continues to serve at local churches as an Interim Pastor and Pulpit Supply.

Mike Price

As Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing, Mike serves as the chief administrator of enrollment for undergraduate and adult students, the Financial Aid Office, and all marketing efforts the College makes, including advertising and public relations.

Most recently employed at Bethel University as the director of admissions, Mike comes to Crown with four years of executive managerial experience, 10 years of managerial experience, and 14 years of experience in higher education related to enrollment management.

Mike has his Associate of Marketing degree from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, a B.S. in organizational administration from Northwestern College (Minn.), and he completed his M.B.A. in 2008 at Bethel University. He was named to the "High Achievers Club" for outstanding performance by Career Education Corporation (CEC), and in 2001 he was the CEC's "Leader of the Year."

Mike and his wife, Kathy, have three children. They began their journey with the College in June 2010.

Mike Sohm

As the Vice President of Student Development, Mike oversees the various departments and programs involving students outside the classroom. These include: residence life, chapel, spiritual development, leadership development, international service learning, inter-cultural experiences (ICE), healthcare and counseling services. He enjoys the cross-divisional nature of his role, allowing him to connect with faculty, staff, and students.

Prior coming to Crown, Mike served as Assistant Vice President of International Ministries for The Christian Missionary and Alliance in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Before that role, he served as Regional Director for the Asia/Pacific Region.

Mike received a B.S. in Education from Minnesota State University Mankato. He earned his Master of Divinity from Canadian Theological Seminary. He also completed Arrow Leadership Program now headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Prior to his overseas service in Thailand, Mike served as an associate pastor in Burnaby, British Columbia. Mike and Nancy were missionaries in Thailand for seven years before going to the National Office of the C&MA in 1991.
