Leadership is important to any organization, but servant leadership is central to God's kingdom advance. I am privileged to work with a dedicated Board of Trustees and a very capable team of senior administrators. Every day we seek to see God at work on our campus changing lives for His glory. We hope that He will use Crown to touch the nations.
As President, Dr. Mann seeks to champion the centrality of Christ in our lives and the call to advance His kingdom work around the world.
Dr. Mann earned a B.S. in education from Western Michigan University, an M.Div. in cross-cultural ministries from Canadian Theological Seminary, and an M.A. and PhD. from Ohio State University in Foreign Language Education with a focus on English and Chinese linguistics. Rick has also completed additional graduate studies in leadership development.
He has taught at Ohio State University, Fresno State University, and several universities in Asia. He currently teaches Leadership and Culture and Data-driven Decisions in Crown's graduate program.
Dr. Mann has served in a number of English faculty roles in the U.S. and Asia. He was the founding director of a Chinese language institute in China as well as the founding editor of an academic journal that continues to be published in China today. He and his wife, Cheri, also pastored with the Alliance in the U.S. for a number of years during which he worked with the C&MA National Office in establishing the Great Commission Coaching Network.
Currently, much of Dr. Mann's research interests and professional work focuses on the areas of coaching, mentoring and leadership development. Each year he speaks in a number of settings on these topics. He previously served the Northwestern District of the C&MA on the Licensing, Ordination, and Consecration Council.
