LIFE Conference 2010
The annual LIFE conference of The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) was held this year in Louisville, Kentucky, and nearly 7,000 students from across the nation were in attendance
Earlier this month, the Crown undergraduate admission's staff traveled to the LIFE 2010 "Collide" conference (July 6-10) in Louisville, Ky., taking a total of eight staff members, including four student workers. There were continuous opportunities to interact with youth during the five day event, which hosted well-known speakers Jason Ostrander (director of youth ministries for the C&MA), Francis Chan (founder of Eternity Bible College), Derwin Grey (former Indianapolis Colts' linebacker), and Crown alum James Grout (a student ministries pastor). Nationally-known bands provided times of worship, including The Logan Martin Band, Hawk Nelson, Kutless and Trace Bundy.

Crown set up a recruiting center in the college display area, where conference attendees were able to stop by and learn more about the College. In addition to their upbeat music, many give-aways and the video games, the Crown staff hosted the game ?Minute to Win It!? twice a day. The wall of TVs they constructed had video of the game being played and timers counting down the seconds as student contestants completed crazy tasks of random skill. "LIFE was a fantastic experience from both an entertainment and an enrollment perspective," said Hyder. "We had multiple students express interest in Crown College, some even applied! We will definintely see the impact LIFE 2010 had on our enrollment in the years ahead as high school students who came to our booth begin to decide what college to attend."
