The Teacher Education Department Administrative Assistant serves as the primary support person for the Chair and the members of Teacher Education Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  •  Manage the Teacher Education database
  •  Assist Unit Administrator with the management of TK20
  •  Assist with all items related to TPA (Teacher Performance Assessments)     as needed
  •  Coordinate the application process of candidates to the departmen
  •  Process licensure application paperwork for graduates and licensure only applicants
  •  Maintain student files
  •  Maintain MTLE exam issues/questions/copies
  •  Write and file all reports required by the Minnesota Department of Education on behalf of Crown College
  •  Work with the Placement Director in the placement of Crown students in their field experiences, practicums, and student teaching
  •  Daily interaction with students regarding classes, database and assignments
  •  Sort and distribute mail
  •  Handle all paperwork requiring attention by the Chair of the department
  •  Coordinate job responsibilities for the Teacher Education CWS worker

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong computer skills (Word, Powerpoint Excel, Access)
  • Strong writing skills with excellent spelling and grammar

The School of Online Studies & Graduate School Communications Manager/Data Specialist works under the direction of the Director of Enrollment of the School of Online Studies & Graduate School and is primarily responsible for the management and administration of the customer relationship management system including the communication flow, data entry and reporting. This position reports to the Director of Enrollment of the School of Online Studies & Graduate School

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Manage the customer relationship management system including the communication flow.
  • Serve as the data specialist of the division with primary responsibilities in Jenzabar EX, Document Imaging and Docufide. 
  • Supervise the graduate assistant and student workers.
  • Hire, train and supervise the graduate assistant and student workers to assist in data entry.
  • Oversee the communication flow to inquiries, applicants, admits, enrolled, current and alumni students.
  • Collaborate with the Dean and Directors of Academic, Enrollment and Student services to ensure that students are communicated to in an effective, timely and efficient manner.
  • Process completed applicant files for review and generate acceptance letters and emails for all applicants.
  • Supervise the process of daily incoming mail, email and phone calls to the Crown Online and Graduate School division.
  • Act as liaison with the Registrar’s Office and Technology Services
  • Maintain an inventory of all promotional materials of the College.
  • Remain current on all aspects of the admissions process, academic offerings, and financial aid opportunities of the College.
  • Seek creative ways to strengthen and improve the general operation of the division, making appropriate recommendations for change.
  • Travel as needed to other Crown College locations for recruitment and registration and at off-campus events and functions.
  • Generate weekly, monthly and yearly reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum three years customer service experience, including work with data entry.
  • Experience working in higher education is preferred.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to collaborate with other offices within the institution. Must be adaptable and proficient with a variety of tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and be proficient in Word and Excel. Experience in institutional systems such as JENZABAR EX.

Health Services Coordinator

Hours:10:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, Occasional evening and weekend events           

The Health Services Coordinator provides wellness and illness nursing care to campus students, employees and visitors in a walk-in setting according to professional nursing standards and college health policy. This is a 10 month position overlapping the academic year from mid-August to mid-May. This position reports to the Vice President of Student Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Manages the campus Health Services budget.
  • Reviews student health records annually for student compliance with state-mandated immunization and health information.
  • Provides for routine health screening (blood pressure, weight, vision, hearing, glucose) for students and employees
  • Performs nursing physical assessment of students, employees and visitors who present to the campus health office with acute and chronic illnesses and injuries
  • Documents physical assessment findings according to professional nursing standards.
  • Provides preventative and restorative health teaching to students and employees.
  • Refers students, employees and visitors to campus services and local medical clinics.
  • Responds to medical emergencies on campus.
  • Activates Emergency Medical Services for students, employees and visitors.
  • Provides first-aid supplies, over-the-counter medications and durable medical equipment to students, employees and visitors.
  • Keeps records of numbers and types of employee and student visits to health office.
  • Arranges annual influenza vaccine clinic for employees and students.
  • Provides annual OSHA blood borne pathogen education to at-risk employees.
  • Chairs and/or participates on the campus Wellness, Safety and Meal Plan Exemption Committees.

Position 1 (days) is 2 -12 hour shifts, Saturday 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Position 2 (nights) is 2 -12 hour shifts, Saturday 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. and Sunday 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

The Facilities Night Technician provides site security, housekeeping, and support of site services at the College.

 Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide housekeeping support activities and quality control for off-hours operational activities or general usage.
  • Provide a Safety Liaison for night operations on campus.
  • Investigate accidents and conduct periodic safety inspections.
  • Conduct security audits on a specified schedule and routing.
  • Conduct environmental inspections on a specified schedule and routing.
  • Perform energy conservation inspections on a specified schedule.
  • Schedule, coordinate and facilitate staff/equipment for specific tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain industrial hygiene program.
  • Monitor and maintain records of equipment walk-through during off hours.
  • Maintain quality standards of work, quality of work environment and equipment to support facilities and operations plans.

 The successful candidate will have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The capability to work independently as well as work as a team member.
  • Have an understanding of security, safety and environmental programs.
  • Prior custodial work experience.

Working conditions and physical demands:

  • Use of personal protective equipment and handling of chemicals.
  • Multi-building college campus requiring a lot of walking.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.

Start: Summer 2013
(flexible hours over a 9 or 10 month period)

Full-time staff to assist in the teaching of undergraduate nursing students, this teaching opportunity will occur in the nursing lab and clinical setting. Assume leadership role in the nursing lab and teaching responsibilities as assigned by the Nursing Department Chair.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Incorporate current instructional methodologies in assisting faculty in the teaching of undergraduate students during simulation and nursing skills lab.
  • Assuring Nursing Intervention Lab is fully stocked and equipment operational for instruction.
  • Assist with practice and testing of nursing students’ psychomotor skills to achieve competency of nursing procedures.
  • Assist with clinical and didactic remediation support
  • May include clinical instruction in long-term care and/or acute medical-surgical environment.
  • Manage Publisher learning environment (Ready Point), assist faculty in set-up and application.
  • Advisory of pre-nursing students, assist with prospective student meetings and events.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):

  • Previous nursing/teaching experience in a higher education setting.
