Part Time, Exempt
Up to 30 hours per week, evenings and weekends as needed

This position provides general oversight for student intercultural experiences (ICE), mission trips and other international service learning (ISL) opportunities. This position reports to the Vice President of Student Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Oversee InterCultural Experience (ICE) trip, including but not limited to:
    • Plan and develop ICE trips for the spring and summer
    • Identify and coach student leaders of ICE trips
    • Identify potential faculty and staff coaches for ICE trips
    • Maintain a database of ICE donations
  • Oversee international student program, including but not limited to:
    • Have a working knowledge of current F-1 visa regulations
    • Keep International student records current
    • Develop and direct the orientation of international students
    • Serve as advisor to MuKappa (International Student organization)
  • Oversee the budget of the ISL Department
  • Oversee ISL graduate assistant or CWS student workers

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Significant time spent living overseas.
  • Ability to plan, organize, lead, and administer multiple projects in the same time period.
  • Ability to relate to college students, international students, faculty and staff.
  • Be in agreement with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Intercultural Studies or related degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of full time experience in cross-cultural ministry with multiple experiences of planning and leading short term trips overseas.
  • Ability to plan, organize, lead, and administer multiple projects in the same time period.
  • Ability to relate to college students, international students, faculty and staff.
  • Unexpired US passport.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):

  • Master’s Degree in an intercultural studies  or related field.
  • Five years of full time experience in cross-cultural ministry with one of those years spent living overseas and working cross culturally.
