The Database Developer/Integrator is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of databases within the organization. There are a number of databases used on campus, and this individual provides support for users of these databases and manages the movement of data between the various databases.
The Database DeveloperInterator will:
- Support the users of the various databases including but not limited to: Janzabar PX, Emas Recruitment Pro, and eTapestry,
- Administrate specific database servers: Jenzabar PX (POISE), Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL Server,
- Manage the POISE database system including regular maintenance, request changes to the data structure and screens, and maintain the integrity of the data in the POISE system;
- Manage the POISE data integration with all databases on campus;
- Oversee other database development;
- Provide troubleshooting, support and training.
The sucessful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree and/or three years experience in the IT industry, preferably in Higher Education;
- Knowledge of the VMS, Linux, and Windows Server operating systems;
- Experience with the MySQL and Microsoft SQL database servers
- Fluency with Microsoft Access;
- Knowledge of the Jenzabar PX is very beneficial.
Working Conditions:
- Extremely heavy use of a variety of computer systems for long periods of time;
- provide some technical support, principally via telephone;
- One-on-one contact with people;
- The office environment is that of a Christ-centered college.
