The Music Department serves the music student by providing training for three professional degrees:
Bachelor of Music Education: The purpose of this program is to prepare students to become effective choral music educators. The education licensure includes kindergarten through grade twelve.
Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance (Vocal, Instrumental, or Keyboard emphasis): This program is designed for students considering a performance career, private teaching, church music, or graduate school.
Bachelor of Arts in Worship Arts: This program is designed to equip the next generation of music ministers for leadership in the local church, meeting the recognized need to reach the lost and engage the culture through the arts.
Students who do not intend to major in music are also encouraged to develop music appreciation through participation in Crown's performance organizations including the Crown College Choir, Crown Chamber Choir, Crown Women's Choir, Crown Brass, Flute Choir, Chamber Orchestra, Liturgical Dance Ensemble, and Ministry Teams (LifeVoice and ENCORE!).
A spirit of excellence has long been the hallmark of the Crown College Music Department. This spirit continues as students and faculty alike dedicate themselves to the life-long process of music-making.
