Get Involved!Crown offers multiple opportunities to get involved with on-campus activities and clubs. All students enrolled, whether full-time or part-time, are members of the Crown College Student Association (CCSA). The CCSA is organized to minister to the spiritual, physical, intellectual, and social needs of the student body, and to encourage standards of personal excellence as well as providing students with involvement in decision-making, programming, and outside-of-the classroom education.
OrganizationsOrganizations are chartered and funded by the CCSA Senate to organize the activities intended to fulfill the objectives of the of the CCSA. Standing organizations have direct representation on the Senate, and are overseen by a faculty or staff advisor.
C.O.R.E.Community Outreach and Evangelism (C.O.R.E.) exists to serve others and show the love of Christ in action. The purpose of C.O.R.E. is to love, serve, and reach out to those outside of the Crown community. Actions often speak louder than words, and C.O.R.E. seeks to use the hands, feet, and hearts of believers to impact the lost and needy in the surrounding areas. All members of C.O.R.E. are a vital part of the whole as each is gifted uniquely and can serve in varying capacities. Ultimately, C.O.R.E. seeks to use service projects and operations to create opportunities to share the Gospel. C.O.R.E. is overseen by a faculty/staff advisor, led by an executive council and team leaders, and joined by willing students who want to show the love of Christ in deed. Students who join are given six areas of service to choose from: ill, elderly, imprisoned, generally needy, homeless, and children. These six teams make up the body of C.O.R.E. and regularly serve in these areas either weekly or bi-weekly in various locations. Believers are called to reach out and to serve, and C.O.R.E. exists in obedience to the Lord’s commands and with faith that God will work through those with willing hearts. The Global Impact Team (GIT) represents all students in its missionary emphasis on campus and has the responsibility of planning missionary chapel services and overseeing the Mission Support Team meeting. These teams encourage prayer for specific mission fields and present the worldwide work of the Christian & Missionary Alliance and various other mission boards. Storm Chaser NewspaperThe Storm Chaser is the monthly student newspaper which is produced by students and supervised by a faculty member. The Storm Chaser is designed in a magazine format for expression of student opinion and creative thought. Storm Tracker YearbookThe Storm Tracker is the College yearbook, which is staffed entirely by students and also supervised by a faculty member, and captures memories that will last a lifetime. The Student Activities Board (SAB) is comprised of a select group of students who represent the Crown College student population. The purpose of SAB is to serve the student body and promote campus unity through the planning, organization, and implementation of campus wide events. SAB typically plans two all-campus events per month during the academic year. These events are designed to create community within the campus. SAB also provides at least two community service events each semester, such as the Book Fair and the Blood Drive. The Executive Committee of SAB is chosen by a vote among the SAB members, and serve a one year term. Student Family AssociationThe Student Family Association (SFA) is for the fellowship and support of student families in nontraditional situations, and for addressing concerns of residents of Faith Village.
